The Neue Schule Turtle Tactio™ with Flex Balding Bit with 16mm Salox® Gold mouthpiece is engineered specifically to accommodate a horse with a larger or more sensitive tongue. Use of this bit has often shown to negate the need to shut the mouth.The central Turtle link brings the proximal ends of the cannons to their closest separation possible. The Flex concept of widening the surfaces that lie parallel to the plane of the tongue reduces the mouthpiece pressure further.The Balding cheek provides consistent poll pressure; a cushioned crownpiece is advised. This bit design is sourced when extra control is necessary. It has also been shown to be useful for horses that are heavy, lean or snatch the bit.Salox Gold is a biologically inert mouthpiece metal designed to maintain the natural warmth and softness of a horse’s mouth.Note: This bit is not legal for use in dressage.
